HARRISBURG, PA - Lee Alan Hostetter, Sr., a Beaver County native, was chosen as the 1st runner-up Champion Auctioneer who competed among 25+ contestants at the 2009 Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association(PAA) Bid-Calling Championships held on January 14th, 2009 at the 93rd Pennsylvania State Farm/Agricultural Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA
With all proceeds from the Championship Bid Calling Contest benefiting Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Programs, hundreds of spectators came out to bid on and buy a variety of items ranging from toy tractors to collectibles.
Each competitor is judged on three categories including presentation, chant/voice, and effective auctioneering. Within these categories, the auctioneers are evaluated on their voice control, clarity, speed, rhythm, eye contact, body language, and more.
Lee Alan Hostetter, Sr., is a full-time Licensed Certified Auctioneer & Realtor, residing in Darlington, PA. He has such a passion for the job. Working and bid calling to the people at auctions is his favorite part about auctioneering.
